Noxious Weeds
The Municipality, in conjunction with a third-party contractor, conducts its annual spraying of noxious weeds in mid-June. Residents are encouraged to notify Municipal Staff prior to June of any sightings, so that locations can be inspected and sprayed accordingly. Spraying of noxious weeds is conducted once annually; therefore, any sighting of noxious weeds brought to Staff's attention ater spraying has been conducted will be added to a list for inspection and spraying for the following year.
The Municipality will note, inspect and spray noxious weeds (Wild Parsnip, Poison Ivy, Giant Hogweed) located within Municipal road allowances and Municipal properties.
Noxious weeds located on Highway 6 and within the Highway corridor are managed by Owen Sound Highway Maintenance and IMOS, on behalf of the Ministry of Transportation.
The County of Bruce is responsible for managing noxious weeds found within the Bruce Road 9 and Bruce Road 29 road allowances, as well as on County property.
If noxious weeds are found within private property, residents are encouraged to contact The County of Bruce's Forestry Technician, Kevin Predon, for further information.
